Total Etch & Clean - Etching & Cleaning Concrete Surfaces 5 Gallon (740-5G)
Total Etch & Clean is a safe, biodegradable alternative for muriatic acid used to etch and clean concrete, plaster, brick pavers, natural stones, and travertine surfaces being recoated. Total Etch & Clean will safely remove lime, algae, scale, and excess mortar. Total Etch & Clean will improve the surface profile/roughness that will aid in adhesion of cementitious overlays, sealers, paints, and stains, along with impregnators.
DESCRIPTION:
TOTAL ETCH & CLEAN is a safe, biodegradable alternative for
muriatic acid used to etch and clean concrete, brick pavers, natural
stones, and travertine surfaces being coated. TOTAL ETCH &
CLEAN will safely remove lime, scale, and excess mortar. TOTAL
ETCH & CLEAN will improve the surface profile/roughness that
will aid in adhesion of cementitious overlays, sealers, paints, and
stains.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Apply TOTAL ETCH & CLEAN solution by using a brush or by
spraying the mixture on to the surface being treated using a plastic
pump up type garden sprayer working with a manageable area. Make
sure to cover the surface with enough liquid to allow for bubbling
and fizzing. The bubbling and fizzing will only be visible the first few moments after initial application. You do not
need to put enough to create puddles. Allow to soak for 10—20 minutes. If using outside, keep surface damp with a very
light mist of water during the soak time. When soaking is complete, rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water.
Squeegee and allow to dry thoroughly before applying next coating. Where possible, it is best to use a pressure washer
to thoroughly remove all residue. Work in sections at a time and always test the area prior to application.

does not interfere with the acid staining process over bare concrete or concrete overlays. TOTAL ETCH & CLEAN is
deep penetrating and removes stains with minimal effort. There is no need to neutralize the surface after use of TOTAL
ETCH & CLEAN. Just rinse thoroughly and go. TOTAL ETCH & CLEAN will not harm foliage.
