Comet P40 Batch Bandit – Softwash Without Batch Mixing
The Honda Comet P40 Batch Bandit is a softwash-only system. It mixes your chemical for you as you spray, so you never have to batch mix a tank again. It comes fully assembled. You bolt it to your rig, hook up the hoses and power, and go.
This is not a pressure washer. If you need to pressure wash and softwash from one unit, look at the Pressure Ranger (see the comparison below).
How It Works (In Plain English)
- The Honda engine (electric start) runs an 11 GPM Comet P40 softwash pump. It is rated at 300 PSI and runs best at 200 PSI.
- The proportioner has three dials: Water, Soap and SH. You turn the dials to set your mix strength.
- The proportioner does not reduce flow. You get the pump's full flow: 11 GPM from the Comet P40.
- Extra water the pump doesn't use goes back to the proportioner through the bypass line.
The Remote
- Button 1: stops the engine.
- Button 2: starts the engine (hold until it starts).
- Button 3 – Green light = CHEMICAL. The TeeJet valve switches from water to SH and the soap solenoid opens.
- Button 3 again – Blue light = FLUSH. It switches back to fresh water and shuts off the soap, so clean water rinses the chemical out of the pump and lines.
- Always starts in Flush. Every time the system powers on, it starts in fresh-water Flush mode. If your remote is lost or the battery dies, turn the power switch on the side of the control box off and back on to get back to Flush.
Starting Mix Settings (from the manual)
- Roof (about 3%): Water 10 – Soap 3 – SH 5
- House (about 1.5%): Water 10 – Soap 3 – SH 3
- Concrete (about 1%): Water 10 – Soap 2 – SH 2
- Flush/rinse only (0%): Water 10 – Soap 0 – SH 10 (blue light on = water only)
Plumbing – 3 Separate Lines Plus Soap
Never tee the water line. Each line runs on its own, straight to its tank.
- TeeJet to water tank: its own line straight to the water tank.
- TeeJet to SH tank: its own line to the SH tank.
- H2O valve to water tank: the 1" H2O valve on the proportioner gets its own line straight to the water tank. Do not tee it.
- Soap: the center valve is a 1/2" metering valve that goes to your soap tank with 1/4" hose. That line must run through the soap solenoid under the right side of the box. The solenoid is what starts and stops the soap.
- Pump and bypass: the 1" port on the proportioner is the inlet that feeds the pump. The 3/4" port is the bypass, where extra water from the pump returns to the block.
Mounting – Must Be Bolted Down
The Batch Bandit must be permanently hard-bolted to your rig. It can't sit loose. Rubber pucks under the base plate cut down vibration. To mount it, remove the 4 bolts holding the rubber pucks, drill 4 holes in your deck, and bolt through with longer bolts. Leave about 1" of clearance and room to work on all 4 sides. The warranty is void if the unit is not bolted down. Mounting bolts are not included.
Power
Connect the red (+) and black (−) wires to a 12V battery. We recommend a Group 24 deep-cycle battery. No extra fuse is needed. The unit is pre-fused.

Rule of thumb: if you only softwash roofs and houses, get the P40 Batch Bandit. If you also need to pressure wash concrete and flatwork from the same unit, get a Pressure Ranger.

FAQ
Does the proportioner reduce flow?
No, you don't lose any flow. The proportioner does not reduce flow, so you get the P40's full 11 GPM.
What GPM is it?
It uses an 11 GPM Comet P40, and you get the full 11 GPM. The proportioner does not reduce flow. It is rated at 300 PSI and runs best at 200 PSI. The higher flow numbers you may see on other listings belong to the Pressure Ranger, which is a different unit.
How hard is it to plumb?
If you follow the steps it's simple: three separate lines (TeeJet to water tank, TeeJet to SH tank, H2O valve to water tank), plus the 1/4" soap hose through the soap solenoid, plus the 3/4" bypass back to the block. The included manual walks you through it.
