Beginner's Guide to Sales & Marketing

Introduction

Welcome to the Beginner's Guide to Sales & Marketing. In this guide, we will cover essential information and techniques to help you succeed in selling and marketing your pressure washing services effectively.

Virtual Quoting

When interacting with potential customers, it is important to gather certain information from them. Make sure to collect the following details:

1. Name
2. Phone Number
3. Address
4. Email - This is necessary for sending estimates or invoices when customers are not available in person.

Customer Inquiries

You may encounter various customer inquiries regarding your pressure washing services, such as the type of chemicals used and the duration of the project. Here are some sample responses:

Q: "What type of chemicals do you use?"
A: We utilize a combination of water, in-house made soap, and a small percentage of bleach that is safe for plants, animals, and your property.

Q: "How long will it take?"
A: The duration of each project can vary. Here are estimated times for common tasks:
- 2 Car Driveway: 30-45 minutes
- 1,500 sqft House Wash: 1-1.5 hours
- Pool Cage: 1.5 hours
- 1,500 sqft Roof Cleaning: 2 hours

Measuring Distances

To accurately measure distances for your pressure washing projects, follow these steps:

1. Open Google Earth Pro (https://earth.google.com/web/)
2. Enter the address in the top left corner.
3. Click on the measuring stick icon located at the bottom left.
4. Measure the object from end to end to determine the distance in feet.
5. Round up to the nearest 10.
6. You can use this information to estimate the distance for a fence or calculate the square footage of an area.

Paver Sealing

To measure areas for paver sealing and determine the pricing, follow these steps:

1. Open MeasureMap on iPhone or Google Earth Pro on Desktop.
2. Enter the address in the top right corner.
3. Click on the measuring stick icon located at the bottom left.
4. Measure the area to be sealed by placing points to fill in the entire space.
5. Click on the three bars in the top right corner and select "Area."
6. Round up to the nearest 10 (e.g., 327 sqft becomes 330 sqft).
7. In your estimate creation tool (e.g., Markate), enter the square footage (SQFT) as the quantity.
8. For pricing, use $1 per square foot. For example, a 330 sqft area would cost $330.
9. For pool decks, subtract the pool area from the total quote. For instance, if the entire deck is 1,200 sqft and the pool measures 308 sqft, the billable amount for Paver Sealing would be 900 sqft (892 sqft rounded up).

General Paver Sealing Info:

- Weeds: Paver Sealing does not prevent weeds entirely, but it can slow their growth or keep them away for up to 3 to 5 years.
- Warranty: Our warranty is valid for 3 years. Please note that it does not cover weeds. If excessive weed growth occurs through the cracks, we will assess the situation on-site.
- Warranty Replacement: If it is determined that the sealer has failed, we will cover all materials and labor required to strip the sealer, prepare the surface, and reseal.

Paver Repairs

Paver repairs are determined based on the number of depressions at a rate of $5 per square foot. It is recommended to add an additional 4-5 square feet because you will need to work on the surrounding area as well.

Remember, this guide is designed to provide you with fundamental knowledge and techniques for sales and marketing in the pressure washing industry. Apply these principles to effectively communicate with customers and grow your business.
